This Privacy Policy explains how Deskbound collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Deskbound application and related services (“Service”).

Subscription Information

If you purchase a subscription, payment and billing are handled by the applicable platform provider, such as Apple App Store or Google Play, and by RevenueCat.

Deskbound does not directly store full payment card details.

Third-Party Services

Deskbound may use third-party providers including:

  • Firebase Authentication;
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging;
  • Firebase Analytics;
  • Firebase Crashlytics;
  • RevenueCat;
  • Hetzner hosting infrastructure.

Third-party providers may process data according to their own privacy policies and terms.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • provide and maintain the Service;
  • authenticate users;
  • synchronize app activity;
  • provide reminders and streak functionality;
  • provide leaderboard and friend functionality;
  • process subscriptions;
  • improve reliability, stability, and performance;
  • detect abuse, fraud, security issues, and technical problems;
  • provide customer support;
  • comply with legal obligations.

Where applicable under GDPR, processing may rely on:

Data Retention

If you request account deletion:

  • your account may enter a pending deletion state;
  • personal data is generally deleted or anonymized within 30 days;
  • limited information may temporarily remain in backups, logs, fraud-prevention systems, security systems, or where legally required.

Certain anonymized, non-personal, or system-level references may persist where necessary to maintain platform integrity, preserve leaderboard or streak consistency, prevent abuse, or ensure service reliability.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed outside your jurisdiction.

Where required, appropriate safeguards may be used for international data transfers.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that such transfers may occur.

Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information.

However, no system, infrastructure, or transmission method can be guaranteed fully secure.

Use of the Service is at your own risk.

Children’s Privacy

Deskbound is not intended for children under 13 years old.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we become aware of such collection, we may delete the information and suspend associated accounts.

Push Notifications

Deskbound may send notifications related to:

  • leaderboards;

Notification timing and delivery are not guaranteed and may be delayed, interrupted, duplicated, muted, or affected by device settings, operating systems, connectivity, battery optimization systems, or third-party services.

You may manage notification permissions through your device settings.

Analytics and Crash Reporting

Deskbound may collect analytics and crash information to understand how the Service is used, diagnose technical issues, improve performance, and maintain reliability.

Analytics may include app usage events, feature interaction, session information, device information, and aggregated engagement metrics.
